It's Mother's Day again? And still no baby.

Do you break down in tears or do you keep thinking, "someday this will be MY holiday"? Are you completely indifferent or do you absolutely hate that you have to wish your mom Happy Mother's Day?

This post from last year is just as relevant this year. For those of you who haven't read it, maybe it will help you get through this day.

It's been a long journey to get to here. Two losses before I had my first. Three more losses between my 2nd & 3rd.
Then an unexpected pregnancy late in life with a new relationship, that ended also in loss on Valentine's Day.

In a store on Mother's Day that year, they were offering a gift to all Mother's - my then fiancee asked for one for me. The clerk actually stared me down and asked if I was a mother?

It took me aback, and made me sad, feeling no, I wasn't really a mother. I was a failure...

Took me a minute to remember that, gosh darn it, YES I was a mother! But that pain & grief of loss is so strong and present.

I ended up giving the gift to my MIL-to-be. It just didn't seem all that important.
